Seating Plan

The traditional seating plan looks like this:

Chief bridesmaid

Groom’s father

Bride’s mother

Groom

Bride

Bride’s father

Groom’s mother

Best man

Usually, there will be a top table with either long tables coming away or a top table with round tables.

Although many people use the traditional top table plan, there are many variations that can be used, depending on family situations.

For a more informal wedding breakfast, for example, round tables can be used with the main wedding party being seated amongst the guests.

Of course, many factors affect the seating plan – every family situation is different and what is traditional may not suit you or the style of your wedding. Whatever situation you find yourself in, your wedding planner will be able to advise you on the best seating arrangements.

But whatever layout you choose, a seating plan is essential. It allows guests to be directed to their seats with the minimum of fuss.
