Invitations

Normally, invitations would be sent from the bride’s parents. If this is the case, the wording would be as follows:

Mr and Mrs …
request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of their daughter
[bride’s name]
to
[groom’s name]
at
[ceremony venue]
on
[date and time]
and afterwards at
[reception venue and address]

If the invitation is from the bride and groom, the wording is as follows:

Miss [bride’s surname]
and
Mr [groom’s surname]
request the pleasure of your company at their marriage at
[ceremony venue]
on
[date and time]
and after at
[reception venue and address]

It is helpful for invited guests to make it clear exactly what the invitation is for. Is it for the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening, or just part of the day? It is also important to make it clear if children are included in the invitation. Don’t forget to include a RVSP address and phone number, together with a reply by date.
